I have freshly installed CentOS7 box sitting behind the best router in the world, more commonly known as VirginMedia Hub 3. I’d like to have some services available facing the world, however Virgin’s box doesn’t not have built-in dynamic DNS settings.
After reviewing multiple comparisons of free Dynamic DNS services, I decided to use noip.com as it comes highly recommended and I already had an account there. There are some caveats: one has to log on monthly to the website (still, beats paying monthly subscription fee) and noip.com uses it’s own non-standard client software which has to be installed from source.
